Dr Hossein Agha Beigi

About

Dr Hossein Agha Beigi is a structural and earthquake engineer with over 15 years of experience specializing in seismic resilience, structural analysis, and the development of innovative solutions for critical infrastructure. Currently serving as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Southampton, he leads the development of DISC technology, a bio-inspired structural system designed to enhance seismic resilience by integrating experimental testing and numerical modelling. His expertise bridges the gap between fundamental academic research and practical, scalable engineering applications for the built environment.

In tandem with his academic research, Dr Agha Beigi serves as a Structural Engineer Scientist at Kinectrics. In this role, he assesses seismic gaps in power plants, evaluates major refurbishment projects that extend station operational life by up to 30 years, and designs complex structures compliant with rigorous CSA standards and building codes. He is deeply committed to driving sustainable and resilient infrastructure solutions that directly address modern challenges in construction and seismic safety.
